Toon Goggles Joins Kidscreen Summit 2014 To Present The Company’s Foray Into 4K Streaming Content

Toon Goggles™, On-Demand Entertainment For Kids™, which offers a diversity of kid-safe and parent-friendly programming, will introduce the company’s move into 4K streaming content at this year’s Kidscreen Summit 2014.
Toon Goggles Chief Technology Officer James Cahall will present an in-depth look at the company’s first development in 4K, showcasing select content using HEVC and MPEG-DASH as part of Kidscreen’s “Future is Now” panel. Using a Qualcomm tablet to output 4K video over HDMI for a Seiki 4K TV, Cahall will offer insight into such key issues as controlling video playback of the 4K content, emerging technologies, increased tablet screen resolutions, and the newest developments in compression technologies that facilitate 4K streaming over broadband networks.
The session takes place Wednesday, February 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. and focuses on new developments in the children’s entertainment industry. Cahall joins moderator Jesse Cleverly, Creative Director, Wildseed Studios; Vince Commisso, President and CEO, 9 Story Entertainment Inc.; Marc Goodchild, Founder and Creator, IpDipSkyBlue; and Rachel Webber, Vice-President, Video Rovio Entertainment.
